Donald Trump has threatened to cancel broadcast licences of TV networks over ‘unfair’ coverage and to jail journalists who refuse to reveal sources, according to the Reuters Institute. His inauguration on Monday is likely to shake up the media – with mainstream journalists potentially restricted from White House briefings and ‘alternative media’ favored. It is expected that news will get less confrontational. And be less willing to risk their commercial interests.

Global is to end around 20 local and regional radio programmes across its Heart, Smooth, and Capital brands in England as it adopts a new ‘nations strategy’. City AM will cut its Monday print edition, reducing print to three days a week, and will put greater focus on more video and audio products.
